At the age of 83 Anthony Hopkins became the oldest actor ever to win the Best Actor award at the Oscars, with the film also picking up Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress (Olivia Coleman) and Best Adapted Screenplay for director Florian Zellar and Christopher Hampton. In a devastatingly superb performance Hopkins portrays what it is like to suffer dementia, in which his confused world is his own reality.
